Italian native Luciano Corona graduated with the highest marks and honors at the Nicola Sala Conservatory in Benevento in Bassoon Perfomance, Chamber Music, and Pedagogy.
From an early age, his skills and artestry were appreciated by the greatest musicians on the international scene including Riccardo Muti, Antonio Pappano, Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov, Roberto Abbado, Andrea Corsi, Eliseo Smordoni, and Mauro Russo.
Since 2005, Corona has held more than 120 solo concerts in some of the world’s most important institutions such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Performing Arts in Shanghai and many others. He also collaborates with the most important Italian theaters as Principal Bassoon at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale Rai, the Abruzzese Sinfonica Orchestra, and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Calabria.
Corona’s 2019 tour has included enormously successful perfomances of Mozart’s Bassoon concerto K. 191 in Bb Major in Japan, Kazakhistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, and Italy.
National Vice President of Mozarteum Italy, Corona has also Bassoon professor at the Liceo Musicale in Airola and at the Conservatory "Tchaikovsky" in Nocera Terinese since 2013.
