Mike Bucalo is a native of Ann Arbor Michigan. His formal music studies were at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. With additional trumpet studies with James Thompson and Frank Kaderabek. His orchestral career spans nearly 50 years having been a member of the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra from 1977-2005 and a member of both the Austin Lyric Opera Orchestra and the Austin Symphony Orchestra from 2006-2016 and currently a member of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra. Mike is an active freelance classical trumpeter on the front range and currently lives in Windsor Colorado with his wife Dawnette and their Schnauzer Jake.
