Praised for her glorious sound, agile technique, and compelling stage presence, Dr. Rachelle Crowell celebrates a zealous musical career. She has received international acclaim for two consecutive years as a quarterfinalist in the National Flute Association's Young Artist Competition. She has performed in Carnegie Hall and has won first prize in the T. Gordon Parks Concerto Competition, the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist Competition, and the Colorado Flute Association's Collegiate Competition. In addition to her roles as principal flutist of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra and associate principal of the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, she often subs with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

A passionate music educator, Dr. Crowell maintains a thriving private studio and enjoys teaching students of all ages, musical backgrounds, and experience levels. In the spring of 2026, she was honored to serve as the primary sabbatical replacement for the University of Colorado Boulder flute studio. As a performer, Dr. Crowell is especially passionate about the discovery and promotion of lesser-known works by female composers. In 2023, she presented a recital of works by underrepresented female composers at the National Flute Association Convention.

Dr. Crowell is proud to be a two-time alumna of the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition to her Doctor of Musical Arts degree, she also completed her undergraduate studies at CU's College of Music and graduated with highest honors in both a Bachelor of Flute Performance and Bachelor of Music Education.
